Amy Gurka, PhD

Psychologist, Co-owner

I have been a licensed Clinical Psychologist since 2009. I completed my graduate education at Marquette University focusing on mindfulness meditation as a way to improve emotional health. Since graduation I have worked in many capacities, including private practice outpatient therapy and psychological evaluation, public sector outpatient and inpatient treatment, and treatment in both correctional and forensic treatment facilities. I have also been an active member of the Wisconsin Psychological Association (WPA) since my graduate school days and served as the President of this Association for 2019-2020. Additionally, I am a member of the American Psychological Association (APA).

My approach to therapy is based on a person’s individual needs. My many work experiences have provided me with a variety of skills, including mindfulness, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), emotional coping and regulation skills, and behavioral interventions for a wide range and severity of concerns. Overall, I feel very honored to be part of an amazing team of mental health professionals and to be doing what I love.
